Unit Five

It is funny that the exercise is the same and we are just replacing one thing with another but the outcome is different. I have to say that I like the loving kindness exercise better, part of that is because I liked the view point of Loving-Kindness. Learning to love ourselves and one another is so vital and so important but so many people do not understand how to love themselves. I would practice the loving-kindness exercise daily but I do not think that I would practice the subtle mind exercise more then a few times. Maybe that is because I am still on a progression towards being ready to practice this exercise, maybe with more time I will learn to appreciate it and see it's value in my life.

I really enjoyed all the information about exercise and how we can use this to connect to the spiritual and mental wellness. I try to do yoga after I am done working out and I notice the difference in the way that I feel and I notice that I feel less stressed when I do these things. Yoga is a stress reduction tool but it does have physical health benefits. Yoga can tighten your core and while you are doing this you practice deep breathing and reduce stress.
I am interested in trying to focus on breathing when I work out, I think this will be difficult but I think that it will be worth it.

Peace and Blessings.

  1. Good morning, Nicole,
We have different experiences with this meditation. I really enjoyed just the breathing with no thoughts connected to it. Not that I don't like the loving-kindness meditation because I do. I've started paying attention to my breathe when I lift weights and I've noticed a difference in the quality of the workout. I don't know what you do for your workouts but I'm curious to know how you feel when you apply your focus on breathing the next time you work out.
    Be well!

  2. Hi Nicole,
I have the same feeling you do about the Loving Kindness exercise. I am trying to do it when I feel stressed and cross. I try to step back and think that the intention of that person is not probably what they meant. I mean, really, how many of us can act and do things with "Unity Consciousness" all the time. I am also like you in the fact that I am very much a "work in progress".
As Dacher says, Integral Health is Dynamic, which means that the each of our requirements are changing all the time and we need to change our practice to accommodate that.
I do know that I will keep at it now!
    Take care,
    Karin

  3. Hey Ladies! I think that I am the only one that prefered the second exercise over the first! I really liked the yoga after a workout idea. I have tried to do that myself. Latley I have been doing mamma yoga for pregnant women. I just love it. I feel like it is a great way to strech and breathe while connecting to my self. What types of fitness do you do? I have been walking every day and that is about it latley. I have been having blood pressure issues so far with my pregnancy, so I had to cut back quite a bit! I just love how much yoga relieves stress. It is my favorite stress releiver. What other things do you do to prevent stress from ruling your life?
    Have a great week! Sara
